Things that make you go mmmm...

A date with my daughter. Hope and I had an awesome morning doing seemingly mundane things like shopping for school supplies. Then as spontaneously as we'd announced we were done and started to head home, our feet carried us away to the bookstore, a place we use to love going to but rarely found the time for anymore. She picked up a teen mag, I picked up a new novel and we decided that it was time to do some girl stuff. A trip to DFS to learn all the essential names in history, Gucci, Prada, Tiffany & Co. We drooled over the charms, tried on some face mist and lipstick and confirmed our matching DNA with equal taste in all things Coach. A nice japanese lunch where we both indulged in sushi and our new reading material, then off to Bobby Cadillac's for ice cream sundaes. We talked about everything and nothing and I got a little glimpse of what it might be like when she becomes a woman.

Six hour power outages that force you to take the kids out for a treat and then frolicking in the park. Wayne and I sat under a tree, sneaking in some quiet time while the kids ran, wheeled and walked their way around the beautiful island scenery. Before we left, everyone got a chance to roll down a grassy hill. What fun!

Expressions! A nice bottle of wine, some good cheese and crackers and Deece's special mango jam! I bought Twilight by Stephanie Meyer's today. Mona mentioned it in her last post and I did some research on the reviews. Turns out a movie will be released soon, so I couldn't wait to grab the book. I read Anne Rice's vampire chronicles in high school and wanted to see how this new series measures up. I'm almost halfway into it and totally loving it. It's been a very fun Saturday, power outages aside. Saipan is still a great place to live, play and cherish your family.

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. Your daughter is stunning, Boni! And I'm so glad you like Twilight! I'm on the last book right now.

I read Twilight yesterday. I calculated about four days, in between kids, work and life, but I honestly couldn't put it down.

A friend recommended that read. Is it true that Twilight makes vampirism cliqueish?

Mom and Daughter time - I love that! Sarah is my best girlfriend, and at 22 helps me dress better and laugh more. I'm so thankful for her. Thanks for sharing your time with Hope.
